| In recent years, due to the rapid development of higher vocational colleges, as a basic course in higher vocational education, higher vocational English has received more attention and it is also facing new challenges. At present, in most higher vocational colleges, students’ learning English is weak, interest in English learning is low, learning motivation is not strong and even some students are lack of English learning motivation, which leads to the unsatisfactory English teaching effect, the low teaching efficiency, and makes the English teaching in higher vocational colleges quite difficult. Learning motivation is the inner motive power of maintaining students’ learning, to stimulate students’ learning motivation effectively in English teaching in the higher vocational English, is not only beneficial to the all-round development of students, but also beneficial to the improvement of the quality of higher vocational English teaching, it can provide more high-quality skilled talents for the society, this is the time needed for the development. At present, English learning motivation has been neglected in varying degrees by many experts, scholars and English teachers. of various types of vocational colleges。How to analyze the reasons of motivation lacking for this special group, and propose effective teaching strategies to stimulate vocational students’English learning motivation, it is a problem that many experts,scholars and Vocational college English teachers facing currently.In this paper, the writer took higher vocational students’ English learning motivation as a starting point, the students in Xiangyang Auto Vocational and Technical College as investigated object, the writer conducted a full investigation of students’English Learning motivation in Xiangyang Auto Vocational and Technical College through questionnaires and individual interviews method, and the classroom observation. From the statistical data, the writer analyzed the main problems in English learning motivation of the students, summarized the main reasons which impacts students’ English learning motivation in Xiangyang automobile Vocational and technical College, and pointed out various problems and shortcomings in college English teaching.By the results of investigation, the reference for the previous theory, and combined students’ own characteristics in Xiangyang Auto Vocational and Technical College, the writer put forward some strategies and recommendations to stimulate vocational students’ English learning motivation with some innovation, it has some guidance and reference for the high vocational English teaching. |
