Judgment of Learning(JOL) is a predictive judgment made by individuals for later memory performance according to their own learning situation,which is a way of forecasting their own learning, reflecting whether an individual can accurately monitor their own learning or not.Accurate judgment will benefit to regulate and control their learning process, improve the learning efficiency.Isolation effect is that when a different project occurs in a homogeneous list, memory of the isolated project is to be significantly better than the same project in the homogenous list.Studies have shown that emotion is a factor influencing judgment of learning,but few studies discussed the impact of emotional arousal and valence on judgment of learning, and the content of isolated effect research is limited to perceptual isolation and semantic isolation.Have a study put forward that the uniqueness in emotional stimulation in the daily life also can create isolation condition,therefore this study based on previous research is to further explore the impact of projects’emotional properties on isolation effect in judgment of learning.This study includes two experiments,a total of 510 college students participate in the experiments.Experiment 1 using two factors between-subject design to explore、 whether project’s emotional property affect the isolation effect in judgment of learning or not.Independent variable is project’s emotional properties, including three levels:positive,neural and negative. Experiment 2 using between-subject design by 2 (Arousal:high arousal、low arousal) ×2 (Valence:positive、negative)×2(Item type:isolation, nonisolation), which exploring the impact of project’s arousal and valence on the isolation effect in judgment of learning.Experimental results prove that project arousal is independent of valence affect the isolation effect in judgment of learning.The experimental conclusions are as follows:(1)The project’s emotional properties affect the presence of the isolation effect of JOL.Only when the key word is positive or negative,the JOL value of isolated word is significantly higher than the JOL value of nonisolated word, existing a significant isolation effect of JOL. When the key word is neutral, there is no apparent isolation effect of JOL.(2)The project’s arousal takes an important effect on the isolation effect of JOL.No matter the valence of isolated project is positive or negative, the JOL value of high arousal isolated word is significantly higher than the JOL value of nonisolated word,existing a significant isolation effect of JOL, but the low arousal group did not appear such isolation effect of JOL.(3)The valence of project can not significantly influence isolation effect of JOL, the isolation effect value sizes of positive and negative high arousal group don’t differ significantly between each other.
