James O ’conner’s Study On The Ecological Marxism

James O’Conner is a famous American contemporary ecological Marx thinker, "the nature of the cause of the study of the ecology of Marx" is his masterpiece. Ecological Marx is one of the most influential thoughts in the contemporary foreign Marx. This school is a systematic critique of capitalism through the link between capitalist mode of production and ecological crisis. Through the reinterpretation of the concept of nature, To try to give nature to the connotation of history and culture, and to understand the nature and cultural concept to transform the traditional productivity and production relations theory, to understand the relationship between natural, cultural, social work, in order to reconstruct historical materialism, and put forward the system of ecological Marx ideal——ecological socialism.In this paper, takes the literature research, qualitative analysis, analysis and synthesis, abstract and generalization, and so on, to get a variety of materials for thinking processing, and finally to take a descriptive research method, the existing phenomena, laws and theories through their own understanding and verification, O’Conner James Marx ecological Marx put forward their own ideas and narratives, and the enlightenment significance of O’Conner’s ecology on the construction of ecological civilization in our country is discussed in the present study.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part of this thesis is the introduction, which mainly introduces the background of O’ Conner’s ecology, the background of the research, the present situation of domestic and foreign scholars, the research ideas and research methods.The second part of the thesis is the social and historical background of Marx’s theory of ecology. First introduce the crisis of Western civilization and ecological crisis, followed by the introduction of modern logic and ecological crisis to find their theoretical basis. Finally, the main current situation of "capital logic and ecological crisis" is introduced.The third part of the thesis is the ideological source of O’Conner’s ecology Marx. One is the influence of the ecological thoughts of Marx, the two is the influence of the ecology of the thinkers of the Marcuse, the William, Marx, ben Ager, Andre, Gorz. Then the influence of other thinkers theory, such as Haeckel ecology, Tansley ecological system theory, Fleur Hitler’s futurology.The fourth part of the paper mainly introduces O’Conner’s theory of "ecology Marx" theory, and uses the ecological perspective to reconstruct historical materialism and strengthen the position of nature in historical materialism; From the perspective of ecology, the crisis of capitalism is to reveal the contradiction and crisis of capitalist society, and this contradiction can not be overcome; In the idea of the ecological environment, the idea of ecological socialism is a great idea.The fifth part of the thesis evaluates the contemporary significance of O’Conner’s "ecological Marx". First of all, O’Conner’s theory of "ecological Marx" theory of innovative significance, but also has a strong practical critical function. It has important theoretical and practical significance for us to understand the contemporary development of Marx, to develop the vision of the contemporary capitalist society. At the same time, it has criticized the traditional socialism pattern, explored a new socialism pattern. Secondly, it explains the intrinsic limitation of O’Conner’s theory of "ecology Marx". (1) ignore Marx’s ideas about the natural productive forces; (2) the nature of the ecological socialism with utopia. Different from the classical historical materialism, O’Conner’s "ecological Marx" spillover the basic framework of the classical theory of Marx.
