| The teaching purpose of vocational college education is to foster high-quality technical talents for the first line in production and service. Beijing Polytechnic is the national demonstrative vocational college. The Majors of the college cover each pillar industry which focus on developing in Beijing.The subject of Chinese in this college has the responsibility of fostering the students’ ability of Chinese application, broadening the students’ humanity knowledge and improving the students’ cultural accomplishment. It plays an important role in fostering the compound talents with comprehensive abilities in vocational colleges. At present, the target group of Beijing Polytechnic is very special. The students’ Chinese learning status is not optimistic, so the teachers are facing a variety of difficulties. The traditional teaching method of Chinese cannot develop the students’ potential mostly, which influences the improvement of their Chinese learning ability.Situational teaching method is a teaching method that is based on the teaching requirement, centered at some teaching activity topic, digging out the teaching resources, creating typical environment, motivating the students’ learning inspiration and connect emotional activity with knowledge learning. It mixes the teaching contents of vocational colleges Chinese with situations both real and simulated. It makes short the distance between the students and Chinese knowledge, optimize class teaching procedure, improve teaching effect and has some realistic meaning for changing the Chinese teaching status in Beijing Polytechnic.This article introduces the current status of situational teaching, combined with Beijing Polytechnic surveys and analyzes objectively the carrying out of situational teaching method used in vocational colleges. Based on literature research, it gives a definition to situational Chinese teaching in vocational colleges. According to the theories of constructivism, situation and learning, multiple intelligence, etc. and the principles of teaching design, situational teaching patterns of vocational college Chinese are constructed. Starting from the requirement of vocational college Chinese teaching, focusing on the students’ recognition regularity in Beijing Polytechnic, studying in detail the carrying-out procedure and practical teaching strategy and designing typical teaching samples.
