The E-C Translation Report On Chapter Eight Of The Age Of Wild Ghosts From The Perspective Of Poly-system Theory

This report is based on the translation of The Age of Wild Ghosts. This book is an anthropological monograph written by American anthropologist Eric Mueggler about a Yi community in Chuxiong prefecture, Yunnan. This translation is the first Chinese version of Chapter Eight, which is a climax part of the conflict between the country and community, and plays a role of sublimation.Basic steps: Firstly, I looked for relevant information of the article and writer. Secondly, I did in-depth analysis about its writing motivation and mentality while predicting the difficult point in the process of translation. And gradually refine while further confirming the proper use of the Poly-system theory. Finally I improved the guiding role of the theory with the step by step modification.This report is divided into two chapters: chapter one is the source text and translation text. The second chapter consists of four parts: the first part is the translation task description, including brief introduction to the translation task and the source text. The second part probes into the translation process, including preparations, translation theory and strategies. The third part is the case studies; listing out the problems yet to be solved and what I have learnt from the translation.
