Nowadays, with the enhancement of China’s international status,the importance of Chinese improves to an unprecedented station, and more and more people around the world are learning Chinese or prepare to learn. Thus, the key point of Chinese spreading work is not extending the influence of Chinese any more, but focus on language teaching itself. As we all known, Chinese characters are difficult to write, recognize or read, which means the teacher should pay much more attention to learner’s psychological experience, the elementary learners in particular. Thus, how to make Chinese characters’ teaching contain characters’ knowledge and interest both is the problem which needs to be solved immediately. In this thesis, the author makes a study about the interesting methods in Chinese characters teaching base on prior studies, and the analysis is carried out in the following four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction of why the topic was selected, what study methods the author used and literature review. The second part starts from the features of Chinese characters,and discuss the possibility and necessity of interesting methods in elementary class. The third chapter is mainly about how to reflect interesting methods in Chinese characters’ textbook compilation and classroom teaching. Considering the research object is elementary learners, in the textbook compilation part, the author mainly analyses the common 600 Chinese words for level1-3 students;classroom teaching section,in the electronic era as the background to explore how in the classroom teaching process of reasonable arrangement and use multimedia software,and materials, as well as in the classroom game how to reflect the Chinese characters, pronunciation in practice. And the final chapter is a teaching design for elementary Chinese characters class, aims at verifying the feasibility of the studies and analysis mentioned above.
