Closed-loop Supply Chain Coordination Of Electronic Perishable Product Under Government Participation

Over the past20years, the technological innovation and the individual needspromote the rapid growth of electronic products in consumer demand. While they alsocause a lot of waste in electronic production which leads fatal pollution and hazards tohuman and nature. Under such a background, the problem of closed-loop supply chaincoordination in electronic products has draw attention of scholars at home and abroad.According to the previous studies, the selfish of the closed-loop supply chain memberswould reduce the total profits in supply chain. Hence, a good coordination mechanismand an impartial subject are helpful to maximize the benefits of supply chain system.The thesis will take e-perishable goods as the object of this research, to analyzeand study the characteristics of e-perishable goods and to establish and demonstrate thematching function expression of characteristics. Considering that the government mayparticipate or not, in this thesis two closed-loop supply chain coordination models witha single or two e-perishable goods retailer will be established separately. And the thesiswill study the recycling manufacturing revenue and recovery levels of e-perishablegoods under these two cases, analyze the change of revenue and recoveries in thee-perishable goods closed-loop supply chain under the different tax and subsidiespolicies. It will also explore how the government, through imposing taxes to the policybeneficiaries, setting subsidies to the losers by subsidies policy, prompts manufacturers,retailers, recyclers and consumers to recycle waste products harder, and therefore,reduces influence of the electronic perishable goods on the nature and health, andachieves the Kaldor-Hicks improvements.First of all, according to short life cycle, high final residual and uncertain demandof the electronic perishable product, the thesis will create the residual functions andfuzzy demand function of electronic perishable goods; analyze the reasons andsignificant of government participates in electronic closed-loop supply chaincoordination, and give the coordination mechanisms of government’s participation.Secondly, on the base of single retailer, the thesis will establish the electronicperishable goods closed-loop supply chain coordination model, for the two models ofdecentralized and centralized decision in government’s participation or not, consideringmodeling and numerical simulation which the government participates incoordinating,and the thesis will draw out that: the electronic perishable goods’ residual values and remanufacturing rate have a positive correlation with the amount of revenueand profit of manufacturers, recyclers and retailers; Considering the electronicperishable goods closed-loop supply chain under coordination of government’sparticipation can make profit in each member of the electronic perishable goodsclosed-loop supply chain no less than the previous income level, and increase therecycle amount and recovery rate of electronic products, which means that thecoordination of government participant can reduce the environmental pollution causedby electronic waste, and improve the social welfare.Finally, for the competition of sales market, the thesis will establish thecoordination model of electronic perishable goods closed-loop supply chain on the baseof two electronic retailer, which considers the government’s participation or not, and thecomparison of the two models and numerical simulation show that: compared to asingle retailer, the manufacturers will adjust the wholesale price according to thecompetition between two retailers, and the wholesale price will increase whencompetition is more intense. In this model, the tax subsidies of government policy canincrease the profit of the manufacturers, retailers, recyclers and recycling amount.
