With the aging population in China, traditional home support for the aged isfaced with more and more challenges. As the current institutional support for the agedcannot meet all the requirements, it is significant to search for a new way forsupporting the aged. Therefore, this paper tends to solve the above problem bycombining community support, traditional home support and institutional supporttogether. As a result, studying the organization mode and mechanism of communitysupport for the aged in Jin’nan district, Tianjin municipality is very meaningful.First of all, by analyzing the features of aging population in Jin’nan district onthe basis of the6thnational demographic census, this paper studies the demandintensity Jin’nan district with questionnaires for the aged in this district on their needsand their assessment of services. Meanwhile, it also discusses the current communitysupport situation and existing problems from the angle of the aged.Next, this paper digs into the regulations, infrastructure establishment, servicetypes and society participation etc. based on the successful experiences--namely,organization mode, mechanism, regulation and management mode--at home andabroad. Then it points out the major problem in community support in Jin’nan district.Last but not the least, in combination with government policies, culturalatmosphere, available resources in both traditional and institutional endowmentsystem, this paper brings out the specific improving measures and solutions forJin’nan district—improving the community support idea and management modesystematically, with which, the development of Jin’nan district can be facilitated.
