The Research On The Middle East Policy Of Obama Administration

This thesis is a research of Obama administration’s Middle East policy. It states the necessity for America to make a new Middle East policy by analyzing the challenge which Obama administration facing in the Middle East. The article will discuss Obama administration’s Middle East policy from four aspects. They are ending the Iraq War, Pushing ‘Arab Spring’ and adjusting Iran policy and mediating Israeli-Palestinian peace. Then it will make an analysis and comment towards Obama administration’s Middle East policy.This article has three parts:The first part investigates and analyzes most historical reasons and background why and when Obama administration making the Middle East policy. The Iraq War made America fall deeply into crisis and its benefit and image was also damaged because of the war. Then America changed its attitude towards the Iran issue and was more cautious. Besides, America had different attitudes to allied nations and non-allied nations of Middle East. It expounds the complicacy of the issue of Middle East district by showing us the attitude about America.The second part fully discourses how Obama administration push forward the ending of Iraq War. And it analyzes that America got deeply involved in the ‘Arab Spring’ and promoted the peaceful change of some traditional pro-American political powers and treated Libyan and Syrian Crisis differently. It also mentions some America’s Middle East policy like American adjusted its policy to Iran timely and mediated Israeli-Palestinian peace.The last part is the comment of Obama administration’s Middle East policy. Ending the Iraq War has not reached the expected purpose of American government. And the ‘Arab Spring’ pushed by America has made a serious impact to its benefit in Middle East. At present, the relationship between America and Iran is still full of uncertainty. And we cannot see the substantial progress on Israeli-Palestinian peace mediated by America neither.We can say that Middle East policies of Obama administration are unsuccessful.Continuous armed conflict in Middle East is a focused issue worldwide. The future development of Middle East issues is extremely important to the political pattern of the Islamic world and even the whole world, which has profound influence on the maintenance of global peace, safety and stability.
