Study On Improvement Of The Public Credibility Of The Chinese Local Government With The Prospective Of New Public Management

The public crisis is the unusual behavior that the government must face in the critical period of transition. Whether the government can respond effectively will related to the public trust in government. But the public trust will affect the government’s management level of public crisis. The management of public crisis and the credibility of government interact in special ways. The weakening and lack of credibility are vulnerabilities of management of China local government in dealing with public crisis condition. So in this era of both opportunities and challenges, research on the government’s credibility is the key to economic development, promoting social stability and building a harmonious society. The author focused on the public crisis management, comprehensively analyzed how to take effective measures to overall improve the government’s credibility problem, which lay a solid foundation for shaping the public image of the government. How to enhance the credibility of the government and creating a good image of the government are the core part of the article.It effectively analyzed the internal relations between the public crisis management and government’s credibility in the perspective of public crisis management through data collection, literature research, and combined with certain practical examples. It said the government could promote their credibility quickly through overall defusing public crisis. And great credibility of government is invisible and huge boost. It analyzed the performance and the reasons of weakened and lack of credibility of local government and it took an example of a sensational incident of “Hunan Linwu chengguan hitting”. It researched and discussed the problems of public crisis management and government credibility involved in that incident, and got revelation. Finally, it defused the existent problems effectively by the thought of public crisis management, and developed the normal plan to promote the government credibility. It also promoted the crisis management and crisis warning and enhanced government information opening by improving legal institutions and accountability that made people express “political voice” better, so as to achieve the best effect of public power.
