The Study On Ningde Vocational And Technical College’s Competition Strategy Choice And Implementation

With the development of Chinese economy, the environment for higher vocationalcolleges changes a lot. As the only higher vocational college in Ningde, Ningdevocational and technical college develops slowly and faces with many gravechallenges, especially the recruitment of students continuously grows very slowly.Ningde vocational and technical college has a urgent need to study the correspondingstrategy theories to guide the college’s practical work. On the basis of analyzing theinternal and external environment of the college, the thesis discusses the currentsituation of the college and proposes a a practical develppment strategy.Firstly, the thesis reviews the basic theories of higher vocational education,strategy management and higher vocation education strategy. Secondly, the thesisanalyzes the external environment of Ningde vocational and technical college throughthe PEST model and the Porter’s five-force model, summarizes the college’sopportunities and threats. The thesis analyzes the college’s internal environmet fromthe aspects of the resources and capabilities, summarizes the college’s strengths andweakness. In the end, the thesis chooses the differentiation strategy as the college’sdevelopment strategy through the SWOT analysis and Grand Strategy Matrix analysis.The thesis analyses the implementation of the strategy from the aspects of Talentstraining goal, the construction of teachers’team, specialty construction, theconstruction of campus culture and the brand construction, proposes the strategyguarantee system.The thesis integrates theory with practice as the starting point, introduces theconcept of differentiation strategy to Ningde vocational and technical college’sstrategic development, provide ideas and methods of further improving the college’scompetitiveness. I Expect the study has a certain guiding significance on the futuredevelopment of ningde vocational and technical college, also have certain referencevalue to the similar higher vocational institutes’ development.
