By means of measurement and mathematical statistics, a survey is made on theinfluential factors of social anxiety among514students in sport universities.The research aim is, through analyzing the influence factors and interventionmethods, to lessen the social anxiety symptoms of students in sport universities andprovide references for mental health education. The significance is its role inpromoting the social communication of students in sport universities and inimproving their mental health.The findings are as follows:1. The social anxiety of the sport majors is much lower than that of thenon-sport majors. The scoring of trust for students of sport majors is obviously higherthan that for non-sport majors, no significant difference is found in parenting styleand self-esteem.2.Significant differences are found between the male and female students in thefactors of trust, self-esteem and social anxiety level, the scoring of social anxiety forthe male students is obviously lower than that for the female ones while the scoringsof self-esteem and trust are obviously higher than those of the female.3. No significant difference is found for the factors of warm feeling and extraprotection between the male and female students while the refusal score of the male ishigher than that of the female.4. Extra protection is shown distinctively among students from the single childfamilies.5. Significant difference is found between students from different hometowns.6. No significant difference are found in the factors of trust, self-esteem andsocial anxiety level between students from different hometowns.The following conclusions are reached:1. The findings of the research partially support the hypothesis1and supporthypothesis2but don’t support hypothesis3. 2. The low social anxiety and high interpersonal trust of sport majors may haveconnection with sport function, study courses and individual personality.3.Self--esteem and parenting style show no effects on social anxiety of thecollege students.4.The male students have the characteristics of low social anxiety and highself-esteem and interpersonal trust.5.The trend to be strict for the parenting of the male students may have positiveeffects on the low social anxiety and high self-esteem and trust;6.The hometown and single child background show no obvious influence on thesocial anxiety;7.Significant difference is found for the hometown and single child backgroundof the parenting style, which may due to the educational concept and level of theparents.
