Chemistry is a subject based on experiment, the experiment is veryimportant for students to learn chemistry, high school chemistry new curriculumhighlights the important status and role of chemical experiment teaching in the teachingof chemistry. And the " scientific inquiry and chemical experiment ability requirements" as an important part of the content standards, Sichuan Province in the new coursestandard of chemical experimental ability of students request " to experience the processof scientific inquiry, learn the use of empirical research methods based on experiment,and learn to understand application of knowledge to experimental design, experimentalcondition control, data processing methods in chemistry learning and scientific research."[teaching high school chemistry Sichuan Province basic requirements] so, enhance thedesign capability of the student’s chemistry experiment, not only helps to cultivate thestudents’ scientific literacy, and formed the scientific way of thinking and way oflearning good for students, but also has a significant role in promoting.The main research method is the questionnaire survey method and interview method,test.This paper, from the perspective the teacher, using self-designed questionnaire andtest, conducts a survey to understand the present situation of high school chemistryteaching and weak links and analyzes the factors of teacher on the improvement ofteaching. Then in the same way, a survey is carried out on high grade2011sciencestudents of the three schools of Sichuan Province to find that the weakest point ofchemical experiments lies in the ability of experiment design, which shows as chemistryexperiment design theory level is weak, the lack of scientific experimental design,innovative ability of independent thinking and lack of flexibility. Therefore, it’s urgentto strengthen students’ ability cultivation experiment design.Finally, The author put forward the following feasible and has been used in practical strategies:(1) Experimental teaching methods, focusing on the basic experiment, isfundamental to improve students’ abilities of experimental design:(2) in-depth analysisof scientific thinking and method of experimental design in the teaching material, is areliable guarantee for improving students’ ability of experiment design;(3) the inquiryexperiment, raises student’s inquisition ability, is the effective way to improve students’abilities of experimental design. Hope to improve high school chemistry experimentdesign ability, cultivating high-quality innovative talents play a positive role.
