In the late Qing Dynasty, girls’ school is a product of the eastern spread of westernculture and the social evolution. After the Opium War, Chinese national crisis wasincreasingly deepening. As a result, the traditional female concept and female educationalconcept urgently needed reform to meet the needs of the country and the nation. Chineseprogressive intellectuals, On the one hand, lashed out at the Chinese traditional thought offemale education; On the other hand, they actively introduced and disseminated advancedviews of modern female and education concept in the West, and ultimately contributed to theestablishment of Chinese girls’ school and educational system. The late Qing Dynastywitnessed girls’ school founding and development. Studying the development of girls’ schoolsin the late Qing Dynasty and exploring the experiences and lessons in the course ofdevelopment is to benefit the development of female education in China.This research mainly uses the literature research method, historical research method andcomparative research method, combining the relevant educational theory. The thesis, dividedinto six parts, takes a profound research on the evolution of girls’ school in the late QingDynasty.The first part mainly defines and summarizes relevant concepts and research and thenexpounds the significance of this study and research methods.The second part analysis the era and social backgrounds of Chinese girls’ school.The third part, according to time, the evolution of the girls’ school is divided into threestages in the late Qing Dynasty association and the system in the process of the formation ofdifferent.The fourth part aims to analyze the evolution process of girls’ school in the late QingDynasty through educational aim and curriculum setting of female school.The fifth part mainly analyzes the characteristics of girls’ schools in the late QingDynasty in the course of their construction and development.The sixth part, on the influence and inspiration of girls’ schools in the late Qing dynasty,on the one hand, summarizes the crucial influence, caused by the birth and development offemale schools in the late Qing dynasty, on female education, the female and the socialdevelopment. On the other hand, knowing the past is to benefit today and tomorrow. That is tosay, summarizing the experiences and lessons of girls’ schools in the late Qing Dynasty in thecourse of their construction and development is to provide some enlightenment for thedevelopment of female education.
