Teachers’ professional standards are strong guarantee of promoting teachers’ professional development and improving teaching and learning quality. Development and implementation of teachers’ professional standards has become an important strategic measure to strengthen teachers’ team construction and to guarantee teaching and learning quality in many countries. So far, our country has been developed generic teachers’ professional standards, but has not yet been developing teachers’ professional standards of different disciplines and different professional development stages. In view of this, the author focuses on the study of the problem, and attempts to develop the Indicator System of Professional Standard for Novice Biology Teachers in Middle School, to promote Novice Biology teachers’ professional development.The paper mainly includes the following six parts:Chapter 1: Introduction. Introduce the background, main problems, research method and significance of this study.Chapter 2: Literature review. Research status are reviewed, the basis of constructing indicator system of professional standard for novice biology teachers in middle school are studied.Chapter 3: The construction of indicator system of professional standard for novice biology teachers in middle school. Based on the study of thirty-one teachers’ professional standards and teachers’ opinions on specific indicators, to construct indicator system of professional standard for novice biology teachers in middle school.Chapter 4: Conclusion and expectation. Expound the conclusion of study and the recommendations to be studied in the future.The conclusion of study:(1) The study constructed Indicator System of Professional Standard for Novice Biology Teachers in Middle School contain 3 firstly indicators, 15 secondary indicators and 86 thirdly indicators.(2) According to the theory of teachers’ professional quality structure, taking account of division of professional dimension in international existing teacher professional standards, the study design the three dimensions of Indicator System of Professional Standard for Novice Biology Teachers in Middle School: professional knowledge, professional ability, and professional emotion and values.(3) Professional knowledge dimension contain five standards: subject matter knowledge, students knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, curriculum knowledge, and general knowledge.(4) Professional ability dimension contain seven standards: instructional methods and strategies, instructional planning and preparing, classroom organization and management, assessing, monitoring and feedback, communication, safety and health and biological experiments.(5) Professional emotion and values dimension contain four standards: engages in professional development, relationships with students and professional responsibility and morality.
