Geometric transformations include congruent transformation and similarity transformation. This thesis mainly investigates congruent transformation thought. Congruent transformation thought contains two meanings: transformation thought and invariant thought. And its concrete manifestation is embodied by translation transformation thought, folded transformation thought and rotation transformation thought. Geometric transformation thought as one of the basic ideas of plane geometry, is more and more favored by proposition persons and frequently appears in junior high school entrance examination in recent years. By virtue of graphic transformations one can discover some properties of graphics, and more importantly is able to find the key auxiliary lines to solve mathematical problems.Our study is based on junior high school mathematics textbooks of People’s Education Press Edition (2013-6 first version) and 2010-2014 exam questions, takes plane geometry as the carrier of knowledge, aims at improving the understanding of teaching value and research value of geometric transformation thought, combines with the author’s teaching experience, and introduces in detail the status, role and effect of geometric transformation in the junior middle school mathematics textbooks and junior high school entrance examination. In the meanwhile, the study including specific teaching cases shows the teaching strategy of geometric transformation thought.This thesis articulates from the following aspects:(1) define geometric transformation thought, and its principles of application; and (2) compile textbooks, and investigate and analyze the status quo of teachers’ acknowledge of geometric transformation thought; (3) use geometric transformation thought to analyze and solve exam questions in junior high school entrance examination; (4) teaching suggestions about how to make geometric transformation thought infiltrate into ordinary teaching processes; (5) combine specific cases to exhibit teaching strategies of using geometric transformations thought;The thesis also deeply explores geometric transformation thought contained inside textbooks, expecting that more math teachers can focus on researching geometric transformation thought, improve their research capacity, and adapt to changes of teacher’s role in the new curriculum reform and that at the same time they can concentrate on the infiltration of geometric transformation thought in the classroom teaching, prompt students to comprehend the idea of transformation hidden behind mathematics knowledge, instruct them to master scientific thinking method to discover problems, and enable them to benefit from life.
