The new round of physical education curriculum reform has already begun. The reform of college PE curriculum is an important part of a comprehensive PE curriculum reform, which plays a decisive role of comprehensive training on implementation of quality education and talent.Therefore, reforming teaching methods of PE teaching is imperative. In this paper, to collect information, we do lots of literature reviews, interviews and surveys. And all those had been applied in teaching experiments verify. In the end, I put the experimental results into mathematical statistics and logical analysis, in order to explore using the combination of programmed and temporal of cognitive instruction in volleyball teaching has more obvious advantages than traditional teaching methods in improving students’ volleyball skills, cultivating students’ thinking and cognitive awareness, and promoting the comprehensive development of student body, etc.Firstly, I did a depth study about the combination of programmed and temporal of cognitive instruction theory to illustrate this teaching technique has reliable theoretical base and high feasibility in volleyball teaching, then combined with volleyball technology theory and characteristics, so, I worked out the four volleyball technology teaching program. Afterward by a semester of the experimental study of teaching shows that: the experimental group which use of this teaching are better grasp the technical skills of volleyball than in the control group which using traditional teaching methods, and the experimental group’s examination results are better than the control group.After the experimental observation, I found test results showed that the experimental group of students’ ability in analyzing, problem-solving is far beyond the students in the control group, that’s full explain the combination of programmed and temporal of cognitive instruction improved students’ ability to be very effective. In the experimental group students by the results of the analysis of the questionnaire can be drawn: the combination ofprogrammed and temporal of cognitive instruction can better complete the scheduled teaching objectives and task sat at the end of volleyball teaching.Final results: ① The combination of programmed and temporal of cognitive instruction has more effective results than traditional teaching methods in teaching the volleyball techniques, skills, cultivating various aspects of students’ ability and improving teaching quality and effectiveness.② In the teaching process of the combination of programmed and temporal of cognitive instruction, it follows the teaching level from easy to difficult,taking progressing by degrees, meanwhile,it largely reducing the difficulty of teaching, the pressure on our students, and improving student’s interest in participating in volleyball sports; ③ This teaching instruction can deepen students’ imagination and technical understanding of the concept of action,through repeated practice in the classroom and the information feedback between students and students, teachers and students, to constantly strengthen and consolidate the correct action, enable students to gradually form the correct action stereotypes of "movement- the feeling of temporal" In this process, we not only trains students’ self-learning ability, but also reduces the error rate so that we can improve the success rate; ④ In the concrete teaching process, the other method is reasonably into teaching, the advantages of auxiliary program teaching combined with space-time cognition of teaching methods, to make the teaching effect is the best.
