In the new era of educational reform, the key point is the curriculum reform and the manifestation is the textbook reform, so teachers should sort out the contents according to the textbook and the curriculum criterion. Also teachers should improve the capability of redevelopment on the textbook. It puts forward higher requirements for the research on teaching materials. This thesis makes a contrastive study on the same parts which are classified according to the experiment contents from “the edition of People’s Education Publishing House” and “Guang Dong’s Education Publishing House” used in the middle school.Firstly, I give a brief introduction of the research background, research status and research meaning on the textbook comparison, and then I take the grade nine’s Chemistry books which are edited by “People’s Education Publishing House” and “Guang Dong’s Education Publishing House” as the targets to make a comparison on the experiment contents.Secondly, I make a classification of the experiment contents and spread out the quantity, also I classify the experiments into five kinds according to the contents: the basic skills experiments, interest stimulating experiments,verifying the material properties experiments, revealing the chemical principles and concepts experiments and students independently designing experiments. Then I give a clear explanation of their concepts. In order to comprehend whether the students know the importance of the experiments in the teaching procedures, easy to analysis and show the choice of experiment contents effectively, I make a questionnaire to the grade nine.Thirdly, I make a contrastive analysis according to the quantities and aims of different experiments:a. The basic skills experiments and interest stimulating experiments, thepercentage of the basic skills experiments in “the edition of People’s Education Publishing House” is14.94%, while the interest stimulating experiments is 1.15%; the percentage of the basic skills experiments in “the edition of Guang Dong’s Education Publishing House” is13.25%, while the interest stimulating experiments is3.61%. From the perspective of contents,the experiments in “the edition of People’s Education Publishing House”highly correspond to the curriculum criterion, while “the edition of Guang Dong’s Education Publishing House” mainly focuses on the interest stimulating experiments.b. verifying the material properties experiments, the percentage of the verifying the material properties experiments in “the edition of People’s Education Publishing House” is58.62%, while the percent in “the edition of Guang Dong’s Education Publishing House” is 56.62%. The quantity of this kind of experiments are very large, so I will make a contrastive study in different chapters, but the choice of contents in different editions are indeterminacy.c. revealing the chemical principles and concepts experiments and students independently designing experiments, the percentage of revealing the chemical principles and concepts experiments in “the edition of People’s Education Publishing House” is 13.79%, while the students independently designing experiments is 11.49%; the percentage of revealing the chemical principles and concepts experiments in “the edition of Guang Dong’s Education Publishing House” is 19.28%, while the students independently designing experiments is 7.23%. From the perspective of contents, the quantity in “the edition of People’s Education Publishing House” is more than“the edition of Guang Dong’s Education Publishing House”, meanwhile the abundant degree is much higher.
