In recent years, the higher education in China has gained great development, having realized the transition from elite higher education to public higher education. The scale of higher education has met the social demand for the higher education to a large extent and the scale of graduate students has been expanding increasingly. The pungent imbalance between supply and demand in labor market leads to the severe employment situation while for the influence of the traditional gender perception,the female graduates’ situation in the job market is more worrying.The paper is theoretically based on the social gender theory, employing the combination of questionnaires and interviews with the ten universities in mainland and ten universities in Taiwan as the studying objectives. From four dimensions of individual characteristic, employment perceptions, employing process and employing results, this paper makes a relatively comprehensive research of the Taiwan and Mainland graduates’ employment status, analyzes the influential factors of the gender difference in employment to Taiwan and Mainland students from a perspective of the social gender. The research conclusions shows the employing perceptions of the Taiwan and Mainland graduates, the employing process, the gender differences of the employing results, the ubiquity of the employing discrimination towards female graduates which reflected in the employing discrimination, pay discrimination and career level discrimination. Meanwhile, the university graduates in Taiwan and Mainland have differences in employing gender consciousness, employing confidence, employing results and the influential factors.This article analyses the factors which influence the employing gender differences between Taiwan and Mainland graduates from the perspectives of the social gender. It mainly analyzes the influences from three aspects:the’symbol violence’ and ’the dominated male experience’ policies constructed in traditional society; the legal system and’collective unconsciousness’ and ’conspiracy’ of the female university students.Therefore, this study proposes the reconstruction of the social culture according to the above analysis and promotes the social gender mainstreaming in order to reduce ’the symbol violence’ to females constructed in traditional society; it also put forwards that incorporating the gender consciousness into policies and decisions and completing the legislation opposing gender discrimination; constructing the social security system which promotes the females’ employment; improving the self gender consciousness and employability.
