The culture of secondary vocational schools is a campus spirit formed through the work, study and living of teaching staff and students over a long period. With the development ofschools, campus culture serves as guidance for the development direction of schools, valuesof teaching staff and students as well as the constraint of their behaviors. As the product ofdigital publishing, digital publications take digital media as its carrier and internet as its mainchannel of transmission. With the rapid development of information and digital technology, digital publications with an irresistible force have gone beyond the traditional campus barriersand quickly penetrated deeply into the campus culture in all aspects, changing the maincognitive channels, ways of thinking and living habits of its audience. They have injected newvitality to vocational campus culture, but have also brought about many negative impacts. Inrecent years, as an important approach of moral education in secondary vocational schools, campus culture building has attracted much more attention, but its studies are still at the initialstage. There is not much research done in digital publication’s impact on the campus culturebuilding in secondary vocational schools. This paper describes the definition, features and functions of digital publications andsecondary vocational campus culture building, the current situation and their relationship. Thedual effect of digital publications on campus culture building is also discussed. A detailedanalysis is made on the negative impact of digital publications on the building of mainstreamcampus culture and thus a diversified value system is formed. The anonymity of digitalpublications threatens the building of campus culture system, which leads to the moralcollapse of their audience. The virtuality of digital publications has also weakened thepersonal relationships among students. The near-perfect communication mode of digitalpublications has a greater attraction for students and thus has seriously affected both thephysical and mental health of them.In order to enlarge the benefits of digital publications while reducing their harm andgiving the full play of their positive role in the building of campus culture, this study putsforward eight countermeasures in the building of vocational school culture from the perspective of spiritual cultural building, behavioral cultural building, cultural institutionbuilding as well as ideological and behavioral education of students. In the spiritual culturalbuilding, it is necessary to be guided by the socialist core values; China’s outstandingtraditional culture should be included as its major content, and patriotism, socialism andcollectivism should be the main theme during the process. In the cultural institution building,a monitoring system for media information should be established to purify the campuscultural environment and a system of student behavior management is also needed to controlthe online behaviors of students. In the behavioral cultural building, digital platforms shouldbe taken full advantage to enrich cultural activities on campus. In terms of the ideologicaleducation, the group characteristics of vocational students should be taken into considerationwhile setting up new media standards and strengthening the self-discipline of students。The results of this study can serve as a reference and guidance for the building of adistinctive vocational school campus culture and for the promotion of sustainabledevelopment of vocational education, which will help achieve the educational goals ofsecondary vocational schools.
