The Comparative Study Of The Offensive And Defensive Technical Statistics Of The Chinese Team And The Rivals In The27th Asian Men’s Basketball Championship

Chinese men’s basketball team has been the Asian basketball giants, but in the nine games of Chinese teams with the opponents of the27th Asian men’s basketball championship, Chinese men’s basketball team lost to the rival South Korea in the group game, then lost to the west Asian rival Iran which has been risen rapidly in the recent years with the score of51:70,which created the maximum points difference that the Chinese men’s basketball team lost to rivals in the Asian championship since1974.1n the quarter final against Chinese Taipei, Chinese men’s basketball team led by17points in the half-court game, but in the end lost to rival by18points. It cast a shadow over this trip to Asian championship for only getting the fifth.In this paper, I analyzed the technical and tactical advantages and disadvantages of Chinese men’s basketball team objectively and systematically based on the offensive and defensive technical statistical indicators and video of the Chinese team and the rivals in the27th Asian Men’s Basketball Championship, in order to looking for the problems existing in the Chinese men’s basketball team and the gap with the rivals, then put forward concrete suggestions, providing theory and guidance for the future competition and training of Chinese men’s basketball team. I adopted the literature review method, expert interview method, video observation method, mathematical statistics method, logic analysis method and comparative research methods, and came to the conclusions as follows:(1)Asian championship reflects the Chinese men’s basketball team is a relatively strong team,always playing beautiful data. In the six win games, the Chinese men’s basketball team’s2-pointers/hit rate,3-pointers/hit rate, free throw attempts, rebounds, assists and so on all have absolute advantages. In the match against Iran, Taipei, South Korea, all of the indicator are inferior to the rivals, there is still a big gap with the rivals especially in the free throw attempts and assists. There was gap in the shooting skills and the ability to breakthrough against the rivals, the Chinese team’s proportion of free throws and three points score were bigger the score structure was not reasonable. That too much outside shot selection result in Chinese team relying on outside shooting is the mainly reason for the loss of Chinese men’s basketball team in this year’s Asian championship.(2)In the defense, there were not big differences between the Chinese team and the. rivals in the steals, defensive rebounds and blocked shots. But in the game against Chinese Taipei, which team has an11cm lower average height than the Chinese team, the Chinese men’s basketball team lost5defensive rebounding to rivals. Blocks lost4in the score of1to5.In the game against Iran, the Iran team’s offensive rebounds were9more than the Chinese men’s basketball team. There was a striking contrast between the Chinese team’s mentality wanting to win, but being afraid of lose and the rivals’ positive fighting consciousness.(3) Because of rivals of Chinese men’s basketball team is uneven, the Chinese men’s basketball team took good use of their advantages and performed good offense and defense when against weaker rivals in the case of a less fierce confrontation. But in the case of a stronger rivals and more fierce confrontation, the Chinese men’s basketball team’s strength and speed had no advantages, the breakthrough also decreased significantly. Physical strength declined faster, slow defensive footsteps led clearly more fouls, so as not to play their competitive level.
