The Study On The Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Traditional Ethnic Sports Education In Higher Education Institutes Of Lanzhou

The traditional sports of China’s ethnic minority are an important part of Chinese sports as well as precious Chinese culture heritages. Lots of traditional ethnic sports are highly valuable in terms of keeping physical fit, art and education, and it’s loved by people of a variety of ethnics. Therefore, in order to inherit and carry forward traditional ethnic sports, it is necessary to make traditional ethnic sports a part of the present physical education of colleges and universities.This study researched and analyzed the present situation of traditional ethnic sports education in colleges and universities of Lanzhou attempting to obtain an overall view of Lanzhou’s traditional ethnic sports education, summarizing experience of the past time and putting forward some countermeasures concerning the development of traditional ethnic sports education in colleges and universities.As the results of the research show, the proportion of traditional ethnic sports education in the whole college physical education of Lanzhou is relatively small, though the proportion of martial arts is comparatively large. Telling from the present research, there are a few reasons that account for this, insufficient official attention, inadequate fund, unsatisfactory facilities and equipment, unsatisfying quantity and quality of teachers; besides, the popularization of traditional ethnic sports still needs to enhanced, and the textbooks need to be updated accordingly.Here are some countermeasures1. The old physical education system, in which western sports dominate, needs reform, and a new system, in which western sports and tradition Chinese sports are attached equal importance, needs to be built. And inheriting and carrying forward Chinese tradition ethnic sports should be the central idea of designing teaching program, revising syllabus, compiling textbooks and training teachers.(1)designing teaching program of traditional ethnic sports for higher education institutes.(2) revising the physical education syllabus.(3) compiling local textbooks that have ethnic characters.(4) united physical education teacher training program by colleges and universities of Lanzhou.2. The popularization of tradition ethnic sports should be enhanced. Multiple measures should be taken to popularize ethnic sports on campus and involve more students, so that the influence and appealing of ethnic sports would be amplified.3. Traditional ethnic sports meeting should be held to cultivate students’ interest towards ethnic sports and diversify the students’ campus life.4. Facilities and equipment should be built or made according to the local environment.5. The fund appropriated to traditional ethic sports education should be increased.
