Content: Fushun---one of the old industrial bases, there are a large number of Laid-off workers and underemployed workers. After years of education career, the author found that the school work of the students who lived in shanty towns or other temporary housing was far lower than that of the ones who lived in downtown. The wealth gap between rich and poor not only caused social stratification, but also caused the gap on the students’ academic. The low academic is not just because of the individual intelligence and abilities of the students, it also has close relationship with the impact of parents’ values, social prestige and living conditions of their families. Especially in English learning, the students from the poor families lack of extra-curricular knowledge and living environment. Simultaneously, except for SES(social-economic status) can positively predict students’ academic performance, parental involvement is also an important positive factor which can impact students’ academic performance. The author puts forward relevant hypotheses under the premise of the theories:1. SES has a positive correlation on the middle school English;2. Effective participation of parents in middle school English learning is positively related. This paper uses survey data and experimental methods to test the hypotheses. In this paper, empirical analysis conducts research to prove or disprove. It verifies the credibility of the theory, and objective description of educational phenomenon. This study conducts in-depth research on family SES, the relationship between parental involvement and English academic performance of junior middle school students. Under the specific environment in our school, teachers’ emotional support, family SES and parental involvement have a positive prediction function on students’ English learning. To improve the English academic, teacher emotional support and parental involvement are indispensable.
