Research On Talents Cultivation Mode Of Martial Arts And National Traditional Sports Major

After the 3rd Plenum of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC), the government has determined to emphasize the development of sports based on the strategy of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and rejuvenating the prosperity of the Chinese nation. Mass sports and competitive sports will be boosted at the same time to accelerate the pace of our country from sport country to sport power, and to promote Socialist cultural development and prosperity to improve the country’s soft power. Wushu major and national traditional sports major undertake the responsibility for nurturing professional talents, cultivating and carrying forward the national spirit, which will make significant influence in realizing the great rejuvenation of the nation and improving the country’s soft power. This profession is regarded as an important carrier to make Wushu theory technology and culture popular, thus the degree of excellent talents is bound to have a profound influence on the development of Martial arts and National Traditional Sports Major. The Ministry of Education has made announcement that institutions of higher learning should innovate, reform and deepen the talents training mode. With the reform of higher education, Wushu and traditional ethnic sports talents training mode formed under the planned economic system gradually shows defects. This research on talents cultivation mode of Martial arts and National Traditional Sports Major tries to provide macroscopic thoughts and ideas for colleges to reform and innovate theoretically.By 2014, there are 46 colleges of Martial arts and National Traditional Sports Major. This research randomly gets the professional talents training plans from 20 colleges. According to the method of layered random sampling, eventually nine colleges’ training plans are chosen for research and comparison. In the research, documentary method, questionnaire method, expert interview method, mathematical statistics method and logic analysis method are employed to analyze the current issues and their causes concerning their admission sources, training target, courses arrangement, professional directions, professional teachers, employment situation, social needs of talents in these majors. Based on the analysis, a reform plan of talents training can be proposed, including the reform of goals, reform of thoughts, reform of principles and reform of policies.This research eventually comes to its conclusions:Talents Cultivation Mode of Martial arts and National Traditional Sports Major has inherited the training mode of sports education major, thus it leads to the single training target and cannot fully adapt the needs of society; the extensive competitive sports teaching mode restricts the individuality of martial arts, ignoring the value that martial arts can help students to develop comprehensively; the colorful contents of martial arts mainly focus on Taolu and Sanda; martial arts teaching only focuses on skillful action at the level of its appearances rather than the inheritance of its humanistic concern. It is the tendency to create a training mode which can adapt to the social needs and the development of these majors, and can also maintain its specialty in geographical characteristics. At the same time of the reform of talents training mode, the institutions should also increase financial and policy support, set up a systematic organization, improve their rules and regulations. In the construction of the particular major, professional specialty and geographical advantages should be highlighted. Besides, it is the institutions’ responsibility to develop students’ independent minds, innovative spirit and practical ability to lead students to shape a scientific employment concept. Implement the education of taking students as the main body, people-oriented, to promote students ’all-round developmenteducation philosophy, highlighting the professionalfeatures, geographical features, f ocusing on cultivatingstudent creativity and practical ability, and improve talenteducation quality. At the same time, we should improve the majors’social adaptation, build a more scientific course system, rich the contents in class and add up the specialty to improve the standard of institutions of higher learning.
