National Higher Education Entrance Examination, referred to as the "college entrance examination",is one of the most important ways to select qualified personnel since 1977. Ideological and political subject is one of the integrated Matriculation examination subjects. The quality of the examination’s conception in this subject calls for great attention. The conception is the soul for the examination, which to a certain extent determines the form and content of the examination. This article is based on the concept of basic education curriculum reform, viewing from the overall situation, makes integrated use of literature survey, the induction method, theory with practice and other research methods to to study the evolution of the conception of the college entrance examination in the ideological and political subject over the past three decades. Specifically, the paper analyzes the stage process of the evolution and also explains the background and significance of the various stages of the evolution. Besides, the paper also reflects on some of the shortcomings during the evolution and it tries to explore possible solutions to the problem. The author expects to Contribute to the development of ideological and political subject’s academic proficiency test.
