Universities and colleges are talent-gathering places. Many colleges and universities have a long history, profound cultural foundation, a larger number of famous scholars. The Distinguished Teacher is the main part of college personage, forming the brand and the soul of a university. Their scholarship and personality not only affects the students but also contributes to the soul of the university.Acquisition Distinguished Teacher generally refer to experts, scholars and professors who have made influential and outstanding contributions to the development of the school and certain subjects. The original records, which come into existence in their teaching, scientific research and social activities and have the value to keep, make the personage archives. The Distinguished Teacher archives are not only a manifestation of a teacher’s individual academic career, but also a witness to the history of the school discipline construction and the development of school and society. Besides, they are an important part of archives resources. They play a significant role in personnel training, scientific research, social services and the cultural inheritance and innovation. The acquisition and development of Distinguished Teacher archives is the necessary means to fully realize the value and function of Distinguished Teacher archives. However, although the current research and practice of Distinguished Teacher archives in colleges and universities have a certain improvement, in terms of depth and breadth, they are obviously insufficient and did not play a role as far as it goes. Thus, it is necessary to have a systematic and in-depth study of master files in theory, especially in the respect of their acquisition and development.This paper adopts the ways of document and system analysis. From research content, it, in the first place, defines the concept of Distinguished Teacher and the Archive of it according to some previous results, and make some points in the standard of defining the Archive of Distinguished Teacher. Secondly, this paper explores the value and role of the Archive of Distinguished Teacher, especially with regard to the function of university. Thirdly, this paper makes a detailed discussion on the Acquisition of the Archive of Distinguished Teacher from its objects, contents, methods and the guarantee mechanisms. Finally, this paper studies the Development of the Archive of Distinguished Teacher. From the view of patterns and forms of development and the dissemination of its achievement, this paper discusses the operation and implementation of the Development of Archive and proposes its own opinion.For the research about the Archive of Distinguished Teacher in Colleges and university, it is still in the primary phase at present. This paper enriches the theoretical principles of the research about the Archive of Distinguished Teacher by giving theoretical analyses and developments. To some extent, it also refines the academic research system by a comprehensive overview on ways of the Acquisition and Development of the Archive. In addition,this paper extents the research about the Archive of Distinguished Teacher based on the view of the function of university. Theoretical study aims at guiding practice. The research of the Archive of Distinguished Teacher will be useful for people to know the importance and the value of it, and its role in university’s construction and society’s development. Besides, this paper is, to some degree, expected to be helpful to provide some help and counsel for practical work.
