Research On The Social Adaptation Process Of The New Generation Of Migrant Workers

With the further development of market economy, the establishment of the household contract responsibility system, more and more rural population are going out of the land into the city. Nowadays, the main flow of the stock is composed of 80,90 freshmen, called "new generation of migrant workers". This research mainly aimed at the social adaptation process of the new generation of migrant workers, through the analysis of the different stages of the social adaptation, the contributing factors of each stage, and the adaptation characteristics of the group at the specific stage, to show the dynamic process of urban social adaptation. So as to provide a reference for social work intervention, and make academic contributions to the healthy development of the new generation of migrant workers in urban society.This study uses qualitative research methods, through the semi structural interview of 17 new generation of migrant workers combined with the observation method, to analyze the social adaptation process of them. The study found out that the new generation of migrant workers in the process of adaptation of the city is divided into three stages, followed by the motivation-dream stage, frustration-depressed stage, and compliance-isolated stage. The adaptation of them is all the way down the process of adaptive enthusiasm and state. In order to achieve to purpose of successful survival, they had to choose to forbear, oppress themselves around the urban environment. On the surface, they are just reaching a low stable level of adaptation, in fact, they are always in a state of negative emotions. In such a situation, they are extremely easy to produce deviant behavior, which is why the crime rate of floating population in urban cities is always high. Based on this, this study proposed some suggestions to improve the social adaptation of the new generation of migrant workers, mainly the optimization of policy reform, and the improvement of education level and the diversification of services.
