In modern society,a country’s principal resource is its brainpower.The advent of the ag e of knowledge economy has changed the standard the standard measure of talent. The standard is no longer just the accumulation of knowledge.The more important thing is one’s personal practical ability and innovative ability. It is the responsibility of education to cultivate the talents that meet the needs of the time. Geography is a strongly comprehensive and practical subject. Geographic experimenalt teaching is very important on the cultivation of personal practical ability and innovation ability. Meanwhile, The new curriculum reform is being carried out all over the country. The biggest highlight of the new curriculum reform is to change the traditional teaching methods,it’s no longer just teacher talking,student memorize. But to use a variety of teaching methods, so that students take the initiative to learn knowledge. The purpose of the course is not only the accumulation of students’ knowledge, but also the cultivation of students’ ability. Pay attention to let students combine knowledge with life, learn to use knowledge. Geographical discipline is bound to keep up with the reform, carry out the geographic experimental teaching activity in the ordinary course of teaching to training students’ observation ability and practical ability. However, the current situation of high school geographic experimental teaching is not optimistic.This paper is based on the constructivism theory, Dewey’s educational thought and Tao Xingzhi’s theory of life education, Combined with my own teaching experience. Using the method of literature, questionnaire, practice research and other methods on the current situation of Putian Senior High School geographic experimental teaching.After research and analysis, I found some problems in Putian high school geo graphy experimental teaching:The resources of geographical experiment are not p erfect enough. Teachers’ attitude towards geographic experiment teaching is negativ e.Students’ principal status is loss. Experimental teaching evaluation system has no t been established and so on. According to these questions, I put forward some fea sible suggestions for improvement:To ensure the resources of geographic experim ent teaching. Teachers change the attitude towards geographic experimental teachin g.Strengthen the students’principal status.Establish the teaching evaluation system. Strengthen the construction of teaching staff. Hope to provide some reference for the improvement of Putian city’s geographic experimental teaching.This paper is divided into six parts. The first part is the background and significance of this study. The second part expounds the connotation and function of the geography experiment teaching. The third part introduces the survey method and the object of this paper. The fourth part analyzes the problems of Putian high school geography experimental teaching based on the survey results. The fifth part puts forward the corresponding measures to solve the problem. The sixth part is the summary.
