The main and most important function of the city is to live. And the most direct substantial element of it is reflected by the size, location and surroundings of living space. Since China’s housing commercialization, real estate becomes a symbol of the identity by choosing independently, which speeds up the social segmentation phenomenon occurred gradually. This paper investigates city residents living in commercial housing in Siping city by combining questionnaire survey and interviewing. This paper aims to find out the solutions to the social segmentation by clearing residential commercialization and residents’ choice. Through the analysis of the current situation and causes of social segmentation, the paper puts forward some effective strategies to reduce the harm of social division. Administrative power leads to the social segmentation, so in order to reduce it only by the rational allocation of public resources. With the implementation of effective policy containment, it is to realize social justice. To strengthen the responsibility of local government and to improve the quality of residents’ life, it is necessary to improve the mix services and provide a communication platform, so as to solve the urban segment which brings to the social harmony and stable development, build a harmonious, fair, justice of urban society.
