With the growing importance of data security, how to construct perfect data protection systemhas become one of the most important issues in the field of information science. The more recentbackup it takes for data, the better its performance will be for the data protection system, thus leadingless loss, which is caused by data missing or corruption. Continuous Data Protection technology isproposed for data real-time backup, it has becoming a great heating in the domain of data backup. Bymonitoring files, all the I/O requests direct to the files could be captured. To provide long-lastingprotection for the files, what should be done is to do appropriate processing for some specific filteredI/O operations. Thanks to Microsoft’s new technology, the so called Minifilter, developing file systemfilter driver becomes more convenient. The file system filter driver is embed into operating system’score layer, hence all the changes of file data could be processed in a timely manner, which highlymeets data backup’s real-time demand. In regard to the factors that affect data backup’s response time,several test cases are designed to analysis the various influential elements.However, the data files generated by continuous data protection technology are exposed to adangerous system environment. Once the files be tampered with or illegal changed, there is no senseto talk about data backup or recovery. Aiming at ensuring the security of the files, this paper presentsa new Mandatory Access Control model, which is based on the BLP model and Biba model. The newmodel can effectively safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of the data files. While this securityprotection strategy is established and implemented at operating system layer, the efficiency of databackup has been improved a lot. Meanwhile, it offers a new scheme for data protection.Finally, this paper implement a real-time data backup and recovery system, which presentssub-second response times. In accordance with the Minifilter, the system not only display the highlevel performance of common data real-time backup and recovery systems, it will also benefit fromthe new optimized secure access control model, which is come up with the application features of therelative data files. Therefore, the Minifilter based real-time data backup and recovery systemdemonstrates a very high value of research and application.
