This dissertation first introduces the project of engineering data networking which was designed and realized in 15 airports including Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guiyang, Jiuzhai, Lhasa, Bangda, Diqing, Dali, Lijiang, Xichang and so on. This project was given priority to the southwest region and based on automatic meteorological observation system of each airport.Secondly,it indicates the requirement and net-situation in southwest areas,the system can receive the lastest ground observation data from automatic observation device in each airport,it can also use ATM of civil aviation to achieve the data sharing of the networking, provides the humanized service of huaman-machine interactive interface,ensures that users can read and use it more convenient.Next the process of the connected terminals will be amplified which involves real-time data collection, format blending and data transmission. The WAN part of the whole system counts on the ATM machines installed in the airports in Southwest China; the system was structured like a star, according to the trait of data transmission on ATM. Each terminal assembles the data, check and blend the format of the data before the data is sent to the network. System will transform it into graphic mode for a better experience of check and use. Meanwhile, people can view data status and check the running system on the other end of the terminal with the help of which people can get the information of net communication, data currency, CPU use, data collection and so on.At last,it tests and verifies the functionality,usability,reliability and compatibility of the system by particular system testing.The system has been completed two phases of construction, realizes the automatic data networking in 15 airports including Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guiyang, Jiuzhai, Lhasa, Bangda, Diqing, Linzhi, Lijiang, Dali, Banna, Mangshi, Kangding,Xichang and so on. And it transfers the data to the southwest ATMB Operation Management Center, southwest ATMB Flight Service Center,Chongqing Airport, and Air China southwest branch, and other units. The system is operating normally, by learning the different dynamic weather situation, it can reduce the negative effects to the flight safety, navigation and return due to the weather, and it can also improve the meteorological service ability of air traffic command.
