Mixing of polymer and other chemical material is the first process of tire manufacturing, also the key process which mainly determines the performance of tire. The mixing of polymer and other chemical material is a very complex process, and the environment of the polymer mixing workshop is very harsh. Because the traditional mixer control system lacks the necessary means of control, the traditional polymer mixing process which controls the compound temperature in the machine is not flexible enough, when the polymer material in the mixer reaches a certain temperature, it has to be discharged. The conditional production process of mix is multi segment mixing method in the existing mode of production, that would result in numerous handling master batch material, so that will lead to the occupation of the storage sites, the waste of storage time, and will create the waste of energy. It has been an important research subject in the development of the tire industry that how to reduce energy consumption and how to improve the quality of compound at the same time, in order to improve the performance of tire, achieve energy saving targets.In order to improve the quality of rubber products further, tandem mixing technology developed in recent years in foreign countries, which can solve the technical problem that the mixing temperature is difficult to control so that leads to the generation of gel. It has become an important development direction of the polymer mixing technology. For the tandem mixing technology, the effective control result of the polymer temperature is one of the key techniques in the polymer mixing process. Because the working environment of mixer is very bad, it is hardly to meet the requirement of the polymer mixing temperature control system using the conventional PID control technology. The fuzzy control technology has good advantages for the polymer mixing process temperature control such as a time delay characteristics of the control parameters. This paper uses the intelligent control technology to realize the temperature control goals, which uses the control technology of combining fuzzy control and PID control.Firstly, this paper briefly introduces the requirements for mixing process, the function, main structure and development history of mixer. It points out the technical problems existing in the current mixing process as well as, so then it raises the research demands of tandem mixer. This paper elaborates the present development situation, background and significance of the polymer temperature control system for the tandem mixer technology. This paper gives the analysis of the conventional mixing technology function and the mode for temperature control in processing control machine. By analyzing the function needs of tandem mixer temperature control system, the development status of mixer control system and temperature control technology, this paper puts forward to the design requirements of the polymer temperature control system for tandem mixer clearly, proposes a control objective and the control mode of the system design.Secondly, this paper introduces the principle, function and setting method of conventional PID control technology. As a common control technology in the process control field, PID control method has many advantages. But at the same time, there are also some problems, when the characteristic of the controlled object changes, the system may become unstable. This paper introduces the composition, working principle and characteristics of fuzzy control system. By analysis of the technology of conventional PID control and fuzzy control, puts forward PID control combining fuzzy control theory and the working principle of the parameter tuning method.Then, according to the characteristics of polymer mixing production technology of mixer, this paper analyzes various effect factors for the mixing polymer temperature in the mixer. It ensures the main factors and secondary factors which effect the polymer temperature in mixing process. By study on the energy balance relation during the polymer mixing process, this paper confirms the control strategy of the polymer temperature control system for the tandem mixer. This paper sets up the framework of the polymer temperature control system for tandem mixer, based on the fuzzy control technology. It fuzzily processes the object controlled by fuzzy processing, propose the fuzzy control rules. This paper simulates the control system through the MATLAB tools.Determine the selection of hardware and program design for polymer temperature control system of tandem mixer. Select Siemens large AC variable frequency motor to drive the rollers of tandem mixer, and choose a complete set Siemens large AC frequency converter with active filter feedback function driving controller to control the AC motor. Use SIMATIC S7-300 serials PLC as the core of polymer temperature control system, which can connect the other control systems through the network interface, which may receive the polymer mixing reception from the supervisory computer and update the production data through the network. Choose a set of smart touch panel SIMATIC TP1200 based on WinCC flexible as the man-machine interface, which may realize real-time monitors of temperature of rubber material. Select Siemens large control system platform, to enhance the running reliability of the system, and provides the hardware platform for the implementation of complex algorithms and system expansion. Give the flow chart of the main program and the fuzzy calculation program flow chart to realize the function of the tandem mixer polymer temperature control system.Finally, summarize the research work of this paper, point out some existing problems, and put forward some suggestions for further improvement.
