Dielectric logging is a method that use the dielectric constant to distinguish the different layers of rock.Because the dielectric constant of oil or most rock forming minerals is very different with that of water, dielectric constant of the formation depends largely on the water content of the formation. Therefore dielectric logging instrument can accurately estimate the water content in formation by measure the dielectric constant. Meanwhile, other information of the rock can also be obtained from the measurement results with the help of other equipment. The main work in this thesis is mainly reflected in the following aspects:Firstly, the polarization mechanism of reservoir structure and the basic principle of dielectric logging are analyzed. The different propagation models of electromagnetic wave and their propagation path are studied, then the relationship between the dielectric response and the electric parameters under different propagation model is discussed. And the relationship between the test result and dielectric constant is formed.Secondly, the design of antenna unit working at 1.1 GHz in dielectric logging is analyzed. The design process of the antenna cells are simulated and analyzed, and the key parameters of the antenna unit are optimized. Then, the sending and receiving antenna array have been designed and analyzed based on the design of the antenna unit. The key parameters of the antenna and the spacing between the antenna cells are analyzed in detail. Finally, the basic theory of electromagnetic logging data inversion was analyzed and discussed; preliminary data inversion method based on the probe measurement was verified.
