With the rapid development of space technology, electric propulsion has been widely studied and applied because of its high efficiency, long life and other outstanding advantages. Electric propulsion technology has become an essential technology in the application of communication satellite, which has an important significance for the development of our country's satellite. In foreign countries, electric propulsion technology is more proficient, and has been used in the mainstream of large-scale satellite platform, there are many worthy of reference. The research of electric propulsion technology has been in progress in our country, and it has been applied in some satellite platforms. However, as the electric propulsion is working, the high temperature and high energy of the plume are ejected. The complex electromagnetic environment of the plume can cause many kinds of damage to the space system, and then cause huge losses.. So we must carry out comprehensive and in-depth research on the electromagnetic compatibility of the electric propulsion plume and the entire star. The use of ground simulation test method for all the unknown electromagnetic problems encountered in orbit ca n be used to promote the successful application and popularization of electric propulsion technology in our country.Electric propulsion plume is a kind of complex inhomogeneous plasma. The physical properties of the plasma are generally described by the plasma frequency, the collision frequency and the frequency of the incident electromagnetic wave. These three influence each other, there is a strong nonlinear effect. So there is complexity and diversity in the study of the mode of action between plasma and electromagnetic wave. In this paper, according to the different frequency range of the incident electromagnetic wave, a variety of numerical calculation methods are introduced to analyze the electromagnetic effect of the plume and applied to different methods of plume electron concentration modeling. Mainly including approximation algorithm: WKB?Propagation matrix method;High accuracy algorithm:FDTD?Ray Tracing. The emphasis is focused on the calculation of the energy of the plume, the influence of the energy and the phase of the electromagnetic wave, and the value of the receiving field of the satellite's surface, and compared with the non plume. Test results show that the electromagnetic effect of the plume, the actual on orbit situation of fire plume and space system electromagnetic compatibility problem provides a certain reference value.
