Study area is located Tethys- southwest of the eastern Himalayan metallogenic domain "Three Rivers" south section metallogenic belt, in several parts of plate intersection, south Yidun arc segment, combined with the east of the Jinsha River, Yangtze Taihsi edge mineralization in exceptional condition, is an important copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver and other metal mineralization belt. In recent years, large and very large porphyry copper deposit discovered in the region so that the area of concern and has become an important copper polymetallic ore district. On the basis of the collection and analysis of available information on the area, the use of GIS software for information and data "secondary development", through the study area geological background, typical porphyry copper deposit characteristics and mineralization regularity research summary, identify favorable metallogenic variables using GIS software integrated multi-source data processing and screening, and then with the known porphyry copper deposit overlay analysis, summarized region prospecting model division of prospecting areas. The main results of this paper are as follows:(1) In the study area typical porphyry copper deposit multi-source data collection and collation, and carry out field geological survey work, mainly surrounding rock formations typical porphyry copper deposit, construction, rock, erosion variation with remote sensing abnormal verification carried out detailed research, the study area typical porphyry copper deposit with a clear understanding of, summed up the typical porphyry copper deposit prospecting mark.(2) Extract favorable ore controlling variables: the establishment ArcGIS platform 3km × 3km standard grid quantitative analysis to identify the variables mineralization and porphyry copper deposit in the study area close to the output, extraction and quantification six advantageous control mine variables: stratigraphic complexity, structural anomalies, rock complexity, aeromagnetic anomaly, geochemical anomalies, remote sensing anomalies. Analysis of the spatial location of its relationship with the study area, porphyry copper deposit output. Concluded, stratigraphy, structure, rock mineralization three variables most complex area is not the most favorable metallogenic region; porphyry copper deposit in the study area is basically in positive aeromagnetic anomaly gradient belt; study area Cu, Mo, good elements and Au porphyry copper deposit synergistic effect; the distribution of remote sensing alteration zone controlled by the structure significantly, overall, iron staining abnormality known porphyry copper deposit is a synergistic effect compared hydroxy exceptionally well but in parts of the porphyry deposits hydroxy anomaly indicative better.(3) Based on GIS spatial analysis platform, extracted six favorable ore controlling variables and the known porphyry copper deposit(dot) spatial position overlay analysis, and with correlation analysis and analysis of the characteristics of each variable assignment evaluation the establishment of comprehensive information prospecting model and prospecting model draw forecast by prospective areas.Based on the above, the multi-source data collection study area were summarized, extracted ore control variable region of typical deposits, thus extended to the entire study area, based on the final Prospecting established models divided into four mineralization prospect area are La Vista district, Ninglang- Lijiang prospect, Lanping- Eryuan prospect, Binchuan- Midu prospect. The study area after porphyry copper ore have some indication significance.
