In China the demand of main mineral resource is rising form the high speed to low speed in growth, the structure of resource demand is undergoing significant changes. And there will be significant changes in supply mode with the resource utilization of space structure shift. But the main bulk mineral resource external dependency is too large and the contradiction between supply and demand of mineral resource is protruding. Compared with the traditional methods, geophysical methods have many advantages. It can obtain greater economic benefits with the smaller input using geophysical exploration methods to search for concealed orebody and blind orebody. The application shows good effect. Geophysical methods are increasingly brought to the attention to the experts and mineral geophysical specialist.The Beiya Polymetallic mine in Yunnan province is located at Jinsha river and Hong river alkali rich intrusive rock belt of the southwest Sanjiang alkali rich porphyry hydrothermal metallogenic belt area, which is China's important Fe, gold(lead-zinc) polymetallic belt. In mining area the Gold reserves is large, the average grade of ore deposit is high, and the part of the total of resources such as iron, silver, copper, lead and zinc is at medium or large scale. In the prospecting area, undiscovered polymetallic mineral resources potential is still very considerable.The master thesis is in supporting of the project of "Gold prospecting model and comprehensive prospecting methods study at Beiya in Yunnan province " led by China geological survey. The basic principle of high power IP and CSAMT(Controlled Source Audio Frequency Magnetotelluric)methods are the basis of the application in exploration work. It is combined with Beiya geology and the electrical characteristics of the rock(ore) stone. In view of the bedrock surface and fault fracture zone, the forward numerical simulation is completed by MTSoft2 D. The inversion maps are made by the data obtained the forward model. The characteristics of two kinds of typical geoelectric model is summarized and analyzed the inversion result of TM, TE and TM&TE model. Combined with regional geology, electrical properties and knowndrilling data to contrast the result of IP and CSAMT in Wandong mountain prospecting area in main ore field, considered the exploration conditions at Beiya in Yunnan province, analyzed the effect of the two methods, it can guide the exploration in Xiangshuihe. In Xiangshuihe exploration area geophysical exploration result was validated and some ore-prospecting result has achieved by following the principle of “From the known to the unknown”, closely combined with the geological data, the geophysical exploration result, and engineering drilling. There is ore-prospecting potential in the prospecting area, and comprehensive geophysical methods provide a rich and strong technical guidance for mineral exploration.
