With the continuous development of social economy, people are getting more and more strict with ecological environment. As an important part of urban ecological environment, landscape water gets more and more attention. The water purification technology of artificial floating island is used in the experiment. The artificial floating island together with lythrum, water hyacinth, water lettuce, calamus constituted the hybrid plants artificial floating island which can deal with the eutrophic landscape water of South Lake Park in Tangshan. The changes of TP and TN at different time, the plant growth conditions and the changes of water turbidity are tested under indoors static condition. The experimental results are summarized as follows:The monitoring data shows the removal rates of TP and TN in mixing plants artificial floating island are high, and the turbidity of the water body is obviously improved. Under the condition of static test, the average removal rate of TN and TP in artificial floating island with the combination of two plants are 76.09% and 89.67%, and the combination of three plants are 80.90% and 93.89%. The removal efficiency for nutritive salt of three kinds of hybrid plant floating island is significantly higher than two kinds. During the experiment, the plants on artificial floating island can grow in good condition. The plants grow rapidly from early to middle stage, and then the momentum of growth becomes stable in middle and later period. It shows that the plants can adapt to the floating structure of artificial floating island. Hybrid plants artificial floating island constituted by lythrum, water hyacinth and calamus are the best combination of plant purification in this experiment. It can not only show the best effect of removal efficiency, but also constitute well-proportioned scenery.
