Xigou Gold-belt in Tanchang County is situated in the Haixi fold belt of Western Qinling Mountain. Which located at two different tectonic units of between the southern margin of North China Plate and the northern margin of Yangtze Plate. Its also in Lixian-Minxian Gold mineralization belt. Xigou gold deposit is a small gold deposit, which was found by 1:10000 soil survey. The deposit is situated three kilometers of south Lv-jing rock and two kilometers of north Lixian-Taoping deep fault.The work in this paper consists of the field investigation and laboratory research. It summarizes the area stratigraphy, structure, ore and mineral features. Combined regional structure, geochemistry, rock group features of zhongchuan. Through discussed the causes of tectonic setting and mineralization, it summed up the prospecting mark. The paper has achieved the following results and progress:(1) The mining area exposed a group of cataclastic altered rock of Devonian System. Interfax bridge formation is the major source of minerals. Lixian-Taoping-Xinghua deep fault are passageway for ore fluid. The small ore-controlling fracture controlled the distribution and scale of gold deposit. The ore bodies has been found were associated with fracture zones.(2) Xigou gold is a typical constructure altered rock type deposit. Gold ore bodies were outlined according to the primary halo translation. The ore bodies are vein, vein-like, lensticular and other forms, with steady mode of occurrence.The common metallic mineral include hematite, pyrite, limonite, etc. Non-metallic minerals are mainly calcite, quartz, sericite, ect. Major textures of ores are euhedral granular texture and subhendral granular texture; structure is massive structure, disseminated structure and cataclastic tructure.(3) The genetic type of Xigou gold deposites can be classified as hydrothermal structure. Magmatic hydrothermal provides a heat source for the mineralization. In the role of magmatic hydrothermal, the preliminary concentrations of zone gold burning solution, silica solution and suifides along the fault. With the decrease of temperature and pressure, gold element in hydrothermal in highly concentrated. Under the control of the mine construction activities, gold-bearing hydrothermal enriched again in favorable mineralization ares.
