The Neoproterozoic Jiuliqiao Formation in Huainan consists of sandy, silty limestone and stromatolite limestone. The stromatolite limestone was widely distributed in the Jiuliqiao Formation and a large number of stromatolites were stacked, which build a lot of multiple types stromatolite reefs. This paper discusses the relationships between the environment changing, besonders Relative Sea-level Changes and the stromatolite development in JiuliqiaoFormation by studying carbonate sedimentary and morphological characteristics and evolutionary development of the stromatolite. The study of lithological features, carbonate microfacies, stromatolite and stromatolite reefs of the Jiuliqiao Formation displays that t he carbonatites of the Jiuliqiao deposited in the shallow littoral environment, and in the early transgressive period deposition had been affected by the strong storm. The stromatolite reefs in the Jiuliqiao Formation can be devided into three types, namely sporadic and small mound reef in the storm environment, continuous distributed and large moundy reefs in the transgression environment and sporadic lenticular reefs in the regression environment. The growth and development of stromatolite have a intimate relation with weather, eustasy, sedimentgaving etc.Under them Relative Sea-level Changes played a key role, which controled the distribution and development of stomatolites.
