This study selected the neogene sediments in Mazhatage area,located in the hinterland of tarim basin,as the main object of study.This strata is a good record of the growth and denudation information of orogenic belt in the source area.In order to better support the provenance of the structural evolution of tectonic uplift,we also measured the neogene sedimentary section of kashgar region and Artux city area to better understand provenance material components.For the Miocene-Pleistocene sandstone stratigraphic section of the Hongbai mountain investigation,collected the sedimentary structure and sedimentary combination information,collected samples of sandstone,used for sandstone detrital fabric and heavy mineral combination microscopically statistical analysis,and the formation of the development of the occurrence of inclined bedding measurement,restore the palaeocurrent direction of sedimentary period,used to determine the provenance orientation.Indoor research work mainly for grinding chip the field collected samples,and the microscopic observation of sandstone detrital fabric,statistical its sandstone detrital component and heavy mineral content,the analysis and summary of its characteristics,combined with the field acquisition,palaeocurrent data provenance variation characteristics of the conglomerate,predecessors for research and to study the evolution of the regional tectonic geomorphology research,discuss the Mazhatage area,the hinterland of Tarim basin,uplift and denudation of the source area of the landscape pattern and its sediment deposition response relationship since the late Cenozoic.Research results show that the ancient landscape pattern in the study area to the west and low in overall,sediment source before early Miocene mainly comes from the west kunlun orogenic belt and pamir orogenic belt,and in the main sediment source comes from the pamir orogenic belt since Miocene.And in the early pliocene,provenance is the obvious tectonic uplift movement,during the pleistocene,provenance rapid uplift tectonic denudation of the geological information of the events.
