A Systematic Study Of Hartigiinae(Hymenoptera:Cephidae) From China

Hartiginae Enslin 1914 is the largest subfamily of Cephidae,Cephoidea,Hymenoptera.It is a Holarctic taxon and about 14 genera and 84 species have been described.It mainly distributes in eastern Asia.China has a rich number of genera and species and 14 genera and 46 species have been recorded.In this paper,a systematic study and a revision of the genera and species from China and neighboring countries is carried out.Totally 4 tribes,21 genera and 71 species are described and discussed,among them 4 tribes,18 genera and 65 species are recorded from China.Keys to tribes,genera and species are provided.Following new taxa are described:three new tribes,Janini trib.nov.,Caenocephini trib.nov.and Jungicephini trib.nov.;seven new genera:Diaochana gen.nov.;Koreocephus gen.nov.;Ecarijanus gen.nov.;Curva gen.nov.;Dolichocephus gen.nov.;Maacephus gen.nov.;Changecephus gen.nov.,among then Koreocephus gen.nov.distributing in South Korea,Ecarijanus gen.nov.distributing in Indonesia,Maacephus gen.nov.and Changecephus gen.nov.distributing in China and Vietnam;22 new species:Janus apicimaculatus sp.nov.,J.fumosus sp.nov.,J.gansuensis sp.nov.,J.megamaculatus sp.nov.,J.rufigaster sp.nov.,J.rufus sp.nov.,J.xanthotibialis sp.nov.,Magnitarsijanus sinicus sp.nov.,Tibetajanus circularis sp.nov.,Changecephus elegans sp.nov.,Curva tibetana sp.nov.,C.xiaoi sp.nov.,C.lii sp.nov.,Dolichocephus zhui sp.nov.,Neosyrista tibetana sp.nov.,Phylloecus latitheca sp.nov.;Ph.nigromandibularis sp.nov.,Caenocephus punctcatus sp.nov.,C.wui sp.nov.and Diaochana taihaiensis sp.nov.from China,Koreocephus maculatus sp.nov.from South Korea and Changecephus vietnamensis sp.nov.from Vietnam.A new generic synonym is proposed:Sinicephus Maa,1949 = Miscocephus Wei,1999,syn.nov..A generic name is reestablished:Neosyrista Benson,1935,which is not a junior synonym of Syrista Konow,1896.Ten new combinations are proposed:Ecarijanus ecarinatus(Smith,1994)comb.nov.from Janus;Maacephus speciosa(Mocsary,1904)comb.nov.from Urosyrista;Neosyrista incisa(Wei&Nie,1996)comb.nov.,N.rufiabdominalis(Wei&Nie,1996)comb.nov.,N.similis(Mocsary,1904)comb.nov.and N.xiaoi(Wei,2008)comb.nov.from Syrista,Phylloecus fuscicosta(Niu et al.,2015)comb.nov.and Ph.maculothoracicus(Niu et al.,2015)comb.nov.from Hartigia;Sinicephus cyaneus(Wei,1999)comb.nov.from Miscocephus;Diaochana tianmunicus(Wei,1999)comb.nov.from Caenocephus.Species are recorded for the first time for:China-Maacephus speciosa(Mocsary,1904)comb,nov.;Japan-Sinicephus cyaneus(Wei,1999)comb,nov.;South Korea-Magnitarsijanus kashivorus(Yano&Sato,1928).And some misidentifications are pointed out about:Magnitarsijanus kashivorus(Yano&Sato,1928)from China;Phylloecus viator(Smith,1874)in China;Sinicephus cyaneus(Wei,1999)comb.nov.from Japan;Sinicephus giganteus(Enderlein,1913)in mainland of China.Morphological description,variation of morphology,nomenclature of new taxa,specimen records,distribution,diagnosis and remarks,as well as host information are given and the classification of the species are discussed.At the end of the thesis,the morphological figures of all the new species and several new combinations are provided.Except the holotype of Koreocephus maculatus sp.nov.,all the type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Insect Collection of Central South University of Forestry and Technology,China.
