The increasing consumption of fossil fuels, one hand speed up the depletion of non-renewable resources,on the other hand cause environmental pollution. With the global energy crisis and environmental pollution intensifying, need to seek a kind of green renewable “not compete for food with people, not compete for land with grain”a new type of energy crops. On the one hand to reduce the energy crisis,on the one hand to reduce environmental pollution.Duckweed is a widely distributed water floating plant.Duckweed growth rate is very fast, with high starch content, low lignin content water phytoplankton. In view of the global energy crisis and the advantages of duckweed. The effects of abscisic acid?ABA?induced the duckweed starch synthesis and the mechanism, provide a theoretical basis for duckweed as a potential energy crop.In this study,Spirodela polyrrhiza was used to study the effect of different ABA concentrations(0,1.0×10-5,1.0×10-4,1.0×10-3,1.0×10-2,1.0×10-1 mg/L)?Chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and carotenoid?formation, control of starch synthesis related enzymes(starch branching enzyme?SBE?,starch synthase?SSS?and glucose pyrophosphorylation?AGPase?,the size and density of starch granules, the size and density of stomatal pore size and the effect of APL on AGPase activity. The maximum CO2 was fixed at the concentration of 1.0×10-4 mg/L ABA,and the size and density of the stomatal pore size of the leaf were confirmed to be the most fixed CO2 at 1.0×10-4mg/L ABA.ABA addition will increase the content of photosynthetic pigment.Promote duckweed to capture light for CO2 and water to synthesize organic matter. The biomass was the highest at the concentration of 1.0×10-4 mg/L ABA,the SBE activity was the highest, and the activity of SSS was higher. The synthesis of starch and the growth of duckweed were promoted.AGPase activity and APL2 expression were the highest at 1.0×10-2 mg/L ABA concentration, the highest starch content, the highest density, the decrease of biological growth rate, the decrease of growth and the decrease of consumption, which was beneficial to the accumulation of starch.ABAincreases the expression of APL2,promotes AGPase activity, and promotes starch accumulation. At the concentration of 1.0×10-2 mg/L ABA,the starch content of duckweed was the highest?35.3%,dry weight?,which was 76.5% higher than that of blank. These results suggest that ABA can enhance aquatic plant duckweed to convert inorganic carbon to organic carbon starch, replacing corn, sugarcane or other food crops as starch sources.
