In this paper,we have made a systematic research on detrital zirconof Paleo-to Mesoproterozoic strate in the Liangshan district, western Yantgze Block, south China. It turns out that the Hekou Group has predominant age peaks at 1.9-2.3,2.6-2.8Ga,while the Dongchuan Group at 2.2-2.3,2.6-2.8Ga,the Huili Group at 1.4-1.5,1.8-1.9Ga;the Dengxiangying Group at 1.8-2.0,2.2-2.5Ga,respectively.Meanwhile,we tried to figure out the regional stratigraphic correlation based on the numerous and systematic date collectionreferring to our study area, including detrital zircon geochronology dating and ages of magmetic rocks. As a conclution,we preffer to place the Hekou Group, the Dongchuan Group and the Dahongshan Group as the upperpaleoproterozoic strata, while regard the Huili Group, the Dengxiangying Group and the Kunyang Group as the upper Mesoproterozoic members and coeveal strata. In the end,we make a discussion on the relationshipbetween the Yangtze Block and the Supercontinent—Clumbia. As far as we can know, the Yangtze Block is more likely to lie to the northern margin of the Northern Austrilian Craton as neighbours.
