The Smooth particle hydrodynamics method(SPH)is a fully lagrangian meshless method.This method has significant advantages in solving large deformation movement of free surface,complicated boundary flow problem and fluid flow problem in multi-connected domain,there are good prospects for development.In this paper,the method of SPH is available to simulate free surface flow problems such as dam-break flood flow and landslide surge.This paper introduces the smooth particle hydrodynamics(SPH)development background and the current application of SPH method in the research of free surface flow problems such as dam-break and the landslide surge.The basic principle and key technology of SPH method are detailed introduced,including the selection of kernel function,smoothing length,boundary treatment,time integral,the particles searching method and physical viscosity,in the SPH form of Navier-Stokes basic equations in fluid dynamics are derived.The 2D dam-break numerical flume model is constructed based on the basic principle of SPH method,the method of predictioncorrection(fractiona step method)is used to solve the weakly compressible fluid SPH equations.The dam-break free surface flow deformation,water splash,fusion,roller and other complex free surface phenomenon are successfully simulated.Simulation results and Stoker's theoretical solutions?the experimental data are well matched,and the validity of the model is verified.Energy dissipation is usually set up in river channel improvement project and hydropower project to pick flow of flood control,In this paper,the dam-break flow formations of different downstream depth and the mixing of the downstream water were studied.water has a strong sense of three-dimensional,3D numerical flume model is constructed to simulate the effect of energy dissipation,a comparison of different flow movement condition and interaction between water and building structure including different distance of energy dissipation,whether opening and different slope.Landslides are natural phenomena that occur under certain conditions,including rainstorms,earthquakes,erosion and floods.There are many factors that influence the landslide surge,and this paper selects three main factors: sliding block volume,water depth and sliding speed.In this paper,the 2D landslide surge numerical flume model is constructed,the process of landslide surge is simulated,and the wave height,pressure field and vorticity field are calculated.Finally,some defects in SPH method and the deficiency in current research are analyzed,and the future research direction and development trend are pointed out.Because of there is currently no specific SPH commercial software for numerical simulation computing,adopting FORTRAN program to implement the numerical model established in this paper,successful application of SPH method of dam-break,landslide surge on the numerical simulations of the free surface flow problems.SPH is in the development of the numerical method to research water movement,and it is available to forecast and deal with dam-break flood and landslide surge of geological disasters to provide an effective research method,It has the theoretical research value and practical significance.
