The compact D-D/D-T neutron generator with high neutron yield has a wide range of applications in the industrial online activation analysis,explosives and drug testing,fast neutron cancer and other neutron application technology research.The accurate measurement of fast neutron yield of the D-D/D-T neutron generator is a key problem to be solved.In this paper,the research on the measurement methods and techniques of neutron yield and neutron flux of the compact neutron generator developed by Lanzhou University is carried out.The main contents,results and conclusions of the paper are summarized as follows:The research on the theory and method of D-D/D-T fast neutron yield and flux measurement with the 90 o associated particle is carried out,and a correction method is proposed.A computer program used to calculate correction factors based on MATLAB software platform was developed.The theoretical calculation of the correction factor for the incident D-particle energy range of 20keV-700 ke V,with the fast neutron yield and flux measurement of D-D/D-T is completed and compared with the previous calculation results.The uncertainty of the calculated data is about 2%and 1.41%.A neutron yield detector system with 90 o associated particle was established and a preliminary experimental test was carried out on a compact D-D neutron generator.It was confirmed that the D-D fusion reaction occurred with the proton multi-channel spectrum.The proton count can not reflect the D-D neutron yield correctly and need further study due to the poor coaxial of compact D-D neutron generator and the interference of anti-acceleration electronic.The neutron yield of compact D-D neutron generator was tested by EJ-410 scintillator detector.The relationship between D-D neutron yield over time is given and the data show that the neutron yield of D-D can maintain a good stability for a long time and the neutral yield volatility is better than 2%.The experimental data of D-D neutron yield with energy growth of incident D beam is given.The results show that with the increase of the energy of D beam,the neutron yield of D-D is increasing rapidly,and the energy of D beam is an effective way to realize a high neutron yield.When the D beam energy is greater than 140 ke V,the neutron yield of the compact D-D neutron generator is greater than 108 n/s.
