Land use change and its influence have been a hot topic in the field of land surface process change. The development of remote sensing technology and big data technology provide more possibilities for land-use change information acquisition.Based on this, with the help of remote sensing data processing technology, this paper takes Lunan District and Lubei District of Tangshan City as research area. And studies the temporal and spatial characteristics of land use in the study area from 1978 to 2014.And it provides more detailed data support and decision-making reference for land use development and planning in Tangshan. The results show that, from 1978 to 2014,the area of construction land in Tangshan urban area increases by 62.56km2,the increased ratio of area is 46.85%,and the area increased mainly comes from the cultivated land. The area of agricultural land is obviously reduced, and the rapid shrinkage of high quality cultivated land resources in urban suburbs is typical. The area of agricultural land decreases by 27.43km2,the reduction ratio of area is 46.85%.In addition, the area decreased of agricultural land mainly converts into the construction land.Due to the urban transformation and the positive impact of the national ecological civilization construction,Tangshan carries out urban greening work with the help of a more solid economic foundation, which makes the urban green area of the study area increased by 13.28km2 and the increase rate of area is 93.32% form 1978 to 2014.Moreover,the increase of urban green space is mainly concentrated in the Tangshan South Lake Ecocity area.Besides, the increased green space comes from construction land and other land based on the analysis of transfer matrix, especially those resulting from mining subsidence.According to the study, the factors of economic and policy are the main factors which affected the land use pattern and resource allocation. Moreover, because of the public welfare and spillover of land ecological benefits, the value of urban green space is underestimated, thus weakening its position and role in the land use planning.
