Kuye River Basin is located in Shenfu Coal Field. This district has the characteristics of fragiled ecological environment, the shortage of water resources, complexed water quality and water environment in bad condition. Therefore,an analysis on the characteristics of hydrochemistry, hydrogen and oxygen stable isotopic has been carried out, which provide a theoretical basis for discussing the mutual transformation between surface water and groundwater and studyingthe basin water cycle processunder the influence ofhigh intensityof human activities. The resultsprovide a scientific basis forachieving the goal of water resources, ecological environment protection and energy development simultaneously.Based on the field survey, the water samples collected from rivers and wells are measured for hydrogen and oxygen isotopes and major cations and anions. The characteristics of hydrogen and oxygen isotopes and hydrochemistry for different waters in Kuye River Basin are analyzed by the hydrochemistry and environmental isotope technology. The results show as follow:?1?The river water in the basin is weak alkaline, and the main cation is Na+,Ca2+and the main anion is HCO3-.The hydrochemistrytype of the river water have obvious regularity and zoning in time and space. The source of Na+ in the river water of the KuyeRiver Basin is the dissolution of halite, ion exchange and evaporation. The source of Ca2+ and Mg2+ is the dissolution of carbonate minerals, sulfate and silicate minerals. The source of HCO3-is the dissolution of carbonate minerals. The effect factors of hydrochemistry mainly are rock lixiviation and evaporation.?2?The groundwater of Kuye River Basin shows a weak alkaline.Living water from Wulanmulun River has the absolute advantage for Na+ and HCO3-.Mine water and irrigation water has the absolute advantage for Ca2+and HCO3-.With the increasing of distance between mine water sampling points and riverchannel, the relation between mine water and river water reduces gradually. The main controlling factors for the hydrochemistry type of groundwater are rock lixiviation.?3?The water chemistry type of the upper reaches of Kuye River is HCO3·SO4-Na·Ca and of that the downstream is SO4·HCO3-Na·Ca.The waterchemistry type of water in the upper reaches of domestic water is changed from HCO3-Na·Ca to Cl·HCO3-Ca·Na type with the increase of well depth, the mine water is HCO3-Na·Ca type. The irrigation water from Kuye River is similar with downstream river water.?4?Precipitation line equation of the Kuye River Basin is: ?D=6.5111?18O-13.09?R2=0.97?.The main source of groundwater and river water in the basin is the atmospheric precipitation, and has experienced a certain intensity of evaporation. From the headwaters to the lower reaches the hydrogen and oxygen isotopic compositions of river water are gradually enrichment. The isotopic compositions of coal mine water are more enrichment than that of domestic water and similar in that of river water inWulanmulun River. The hydraulic connection between mine water and river water is close. It shows that the isotopic compositions of domestic water sample has a certain gap due to the different sampling depth and distance. The isotopic compositions of irrigation water are also similar in that of river water in Kuye River, which shows that the hydraulic connection is close.?5?Water chemical and hydrogen, oxygen isotope analysis draw a consistent conclusion:The hydraulic connection betweenmine water and river waterin the Wulanmulun River is close, which shows that in recent years significantly reduced or even disappeared of therunoff have a close relationship with the exploitation of coal mine. The irrigation water has close contact with the river water in Kuye River.River pollution caused the decline in water quality of irrigation water, resulting in crop yield even withered, and the degradation of ecological environment.
