Study On Organization Modeling And Analysis Based On Object Process Methodology

The structure of organization can decide whether the actions among the members are harmonic and the organization can function effectively and smoothly to adapt to the changing environment and achieve its goal.For the study of organization structure,Organization Theory only offers general principles and scientific rules,while Enterprise Architecture offers excessively complicated modeling architecture.This dissertation studies the organization modeling and analysis methods to answer the rationality of the organization structure.The major work of this dissertation can be concluded as follows:(1)Organization modeling method based on Object Process Methodology(OPM)According to the organization problem,an organization modeling method based on OPM is promoted by combining OPM and enterprise architecture theory,which describes different aspects of organization from organization goals,structure and workflow view and defines the meta-models of the models in each view.Organization analysis method based on OPM is studied as well.(2)A transformation method from OPM to Colored Petri Net(CPN)As OPM lack computational capability,a transformation method from OPM to CPN is introduced to transform a hierarchical OPM model into a CPN model with subnets.The method contains conversion rules of basic modeling elements and hierarchical structures as well as some additional rules and is implemented by programming.(3)Workflow analysis method based on CPNTo analyzing the CPN model transformed from the OPM model,a workflow analysis method is introduced including analysis of state space,operating time of workflow,resource conflict and idle time of resource.A detail procedure is described by analyzing a purchase workflow.(4)Application of modeling and analysis method in Fire Brigade problemAfter studying the Fire Brigade problem,an OPM model of the Fire Brigade of American Army is built according to the organization modeling and analysis method proposed by this dissertation.The OPM model of typical operational workflows is transformed to the CPN model to be analyzed.The application explains the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
