Recently,atmospheric pressure plasma jet are widely employed used in the application scopes of material processings,biomedical domain,wastewater treatment and other aspects.Compared with other plasma discharges,atmospheric plasma jet has low plasma temperature,simple discharge device and high chemical activity.So it receives much interest and attention in the field of atmospheric pressure plasma research.Here,it is proposed to combine pulsed plasma jet with radio frequency(RF)discharge.The injection of active particles from the pulsed discharge jet into the RF discharge,enhance the RF discharge and the pulse-modulated RF discharge.Firstly,the High-voltage pulsed discharge was introduced into the RF discharge.The discharge characteristics are studied in this terms of current-voltage characteristics and the spatio-temporal profile of pulsed discharge and radio frequency discharge.It reveals the influence of RF discharge by pulsed discharge jet in the combination electrode discharge structure.Secondly,the pulsed discharge jet is introduced into the off-stage of the pulse-modulated RF discharge.By changing the time interval between the applied pulse voltage and the RF voltage,the spatio-temporal evolution of discharge spatial profile and the time resolved discharge intensity of the four discharge cases can be obtained.The results show that the activated plasma species produced by the pulsed discharge jet play an important role on the ignition of RF discharge.Finally,the simulated data obtained by numerical mode developed in COMSOL confirmed that the active plasma species assist the RF discharge.Moreover,it was found that with the shorter the time interval between pulsed discharge and RF discharge,the discharge ignition time of RF discharge before reaching the stable state can be reduced.It provides an atmospheric glow discharge technique that can enhance the intensity of the RF discharge with reduced discharge voltage.
