Research On Sedimentary Facies And Coalbed Methane Potential Of Taiyuan-Shanxi Formation In The Northern Of Qinshui Basin

The Taiyuan Formation in northern Qinshui Basin mainly develops delta plain subfacies,delta front subfacies,carbonate mesa facies,lagoon facies,tidal flat facies,and swamp facies.In the early deposition of the Taiyuan Formation,source sources mainly came from the northern part of the basin.The basic sedimentary environment is characterized by the development of deltaic sedimentary facies in Yangquan,in the northern part of the basin,where the delta plains are widely distributed,the delta plains are the major coal-forming environment during this period,and the large-scale transgression occurred in the middle period of the Taiyuan Formation.The thicker limestone is carbonate platform and lagoon sediments;the Taiyuan Formation is late in sedimentation and there is a small-scale regression.Limestone is only developed near Changzhi.The main sedimentary lagoon,tidal flat,marsh facies mudstone,sandy mudstone And coal.The sedimentary facies facies of the Shanxi Formation did not change significantly,mainly the delta plains subfacies and fluvial facies.The 3~#coal of Shanxi formation in Qinshui Basin and 15~#coal in Taiyuan formation are the main two main parts.The coal seam is distributed steadily in large area.The study area is the coal rank of middle and high coal rank coal and rock,which has high calorific value and is a better industrial coal with moderate and high metamorphism.The coal seam in the northern part of Qinshui Basin is larger than that in the south.In the northern part of the basin,the hydrological conditions are relatively simple,and the comprehensive sedimentary,structural,coal and hydrological conditions can be obtained.The thickness of the coal seam in the Qinshui Basin is more thick in the north than in the south,and the exploration and development potential in the northern part of the basin is greater,The favorable area of coalbed methane in northern Qinshui Basin is North Yangquan area and Wuxiang and eldest son area.
